DIY electronics is still a hobby for me, something I do beside my day job. Everything seen on this website has started from a personal interest or need. However, nowadays I also try to think of selling potential when designing a board. Even if I design it for myself, selling a couple of boards helps me cover part of all this.
There are two ways to financially support my work, meaning I can continue developing new stuff:
- Buy my boards; the best and most obvious way and gives you something directly as well.
- Direct Paypal donation; find the link below. Use this in case you want to support but cannot find anything to buy.
Either way, everything goes directly into buying PCBs and components, or indirect costs like webhosting, domain, etc.
Moreover, you can also help by spreading the word. I’m sure I can sell more boards if fellow hobbyists know of me. Follow me on Twitter and share my things (as I am not the best in using social media or promoting myself!).
When adding this Donate button in 3/2020 I also removed Google Ads to make the site tidier. Companies can still contact me about direct Ad placement if it is related to what I do.
PS. If you click the ‘Donate’ button, you see three seemingly random GBP figures. These are prices for AKM AK4490, AKM AK4493, and TI PCM1794 DAC, respectively, in Digikey 27/3/2020 when purchased 10 pcs, and includingVAT (which I need to pay as private person). Just that you know 🙂
Why support?
Everything you see on this website: the website host and domain itself, all articles, measurements, posts, schematic designs, layouts, factory-made PCBs, cases, custom panels, all components, all measurement instruments (except the ones I have won or use at work) – all of this I have purchased with my own money and used my own free time to create. Out of pure passion and interest. While it is a great time to be a tinker due to very low cost PCBs, 3D-printing etc., it still costs quite some money. I like numbers and track my expenses; this hobby is the second on my list of highest annual expenses after my rent. By selling boards and offering support options I’m trying get some of the money back to keep investing on new projects and keep everything going.
Of course that is not all. I have a dream. We all have, or at least should have. One day I would like to grow this to a successful side business. At this point I consider successful if I could make more money than I spend! My dreams go further but let’s start from that.
Every little helps. Thank you!
